the media keep going strong. In case of the film Fitna they all showed the facts as they saw fit, ie. with contempt and condemnation, although there was nothing in the film we had not seen before, and which were not a product of our imagination (nor the author's).
Then we had the 'racist incident' in Antwerp last Saturday, where the media gladly sank their teeth into and let an African lady tell her story (fairy tale?) in the smallest detail, without any interruption nor question by any journalist. Afterwards it seemed the facts were totally different than they had initially been depicted. The papers did mention this (except for De Morgen), also the VRT showed a short clip about the new facts, while VTM did not find it necessary to correct the previous story, after they had openly condemned the Flemish couple. A typical example of breach of journalistic ethics and lack of professionalism. Also MP Francis Van den Eynde of Vlaams Belang mentions this mess on his blog. http://www.francisvandeneynde.org
On our Vlaanderen-Flanders web site a petition against VTM can be signed, it can be found at http://www.vlaanderen-flanders.org.uk/Petitie/petitie.htm, it would be nice if you could sign it too. It has to stop that Flemings are always made foreigners in their own country and are always referred to as racists. And where was the CGKR when all this happened? They stood by and watched. |
